Sleep in crate or in the house?
Hi everyone
Peanut is growing so fast! I originally bought a larger crate and sectioned off areas for crate training. The partition has been long gone and Peanut has the entire crate opened up. I’d say the crate is roughly 3ft long and 2ft wide, Peanut also has a fleece bed which covers the entire area. I noticed that, at best, Peanut can sit comfortably in his crate. However I’m concerned he might feel restricted because he cannot spread out his arms and legs. (Every morning when I open Peanut’s crate, he stretches for a long time).
As of now, Peanut only sleeps in the crate at night time. In the day, he’s running and playing around the house supervised. He getting darn good at pottying outside and hasn’t had an accident in a long (2 month, knock on wood!). Peanut hasn’t had an accident sleeping in his crate for a long time (+3 months) too.
So I was thinking (or it might be inevitable) maybe I should let Peanut
a) sleep in the house instead of the crate. I was thinking about sectioning off areas and just give him one room to start with (thinking about the kitchen).
b) Buy a larger crate to ensure he wont get into trouble or have accident in the house
c) Any other suggestions?
I have been thinking about this for a while and would greatly like to hear everyone’s opinion/story.
Thanks again!!
