No, I don't think Charlie will just hang onto a ball for more than a few seconds at a time. Some articles indicate for the dog to chew for 15 minutes. I can see a game of "grab and let go" (like tug of war) for 15 minute sessions with treats, maybe. One article said some people sit on the floor cross-legged and physically hold the ball in the dogs mouth. That doesn't sound like fun for Charlie or me, and I don't think he'd do it.

When I asked, my vet said he could refer me to a few local vets with orthodontic training "if Charlie's teeth don't move in a couple of weeks". I should get the references from him this week instead of waiting. After all the same vet said "Don't worry about retained puppy teeth until he's 7 months." And here we are (at 6 months) with this problem.
