My Foxy can also be a very finicky eater. She's been like that since we got her... I've tried all kinds of expensive, well-respected brands of kibble and she just wasn't into any of them.
For a long time I tried mixing canned food into dry and all sorts of things, even made her home cooked a few times too. Well, she would pick out the canned food and leave the dry food.
Each time I tried a new food, she like the new stuff for a few days and then gradually stopped liking it ... eventually getting to the point where she wouldn't eat a bite of any of her food -- canned or kibble.
So, one day I got mad at all the money and time spent trying to find a food that she'd like and just bought a good brand of kibble (not the most expensive or most highly-acclaimed, but one that I felt was healthy), put a bowl of the darned plain kibble down and wouldn't you know... she ate it all.
The secret was finding something she liked, restraining myself from hovering about while she tried to eat and -- to echo Debbie's advice -- take the bowl away when feeding time is over.
