Charlie and I just ran into the owner of the unneutered poodle who runs loose in the neighborhood. I see the dog almost every day, but haven't seen the owner since November until today.

I asked him about the beagle who his poodle had impregnated. He said, "Oh, the owners told me that their dog ran away." Sound fishy to anyone else? I have a feeling that momma beagle and baby poo-eagles went to a shelter and may finally have a small chance at finding responsible owners if they're not euthanized.

The guy also said about his dog, "I just let him run around. He seems to know the neighborhood pretty well now." (Question: Is "Stupid" enough justification to beat someone over the head????) I had Charlie on a leash and just said, "Yeah well, I wouldn't let this little guy out of my sight. Too many wackos running around these days." It was a somewhat pointed remark...went right over the guy's head I'm sure.

.....just grumbling and venting....
