Duchess astounds me with what she has been taught. Some one in her previous life, Before me, has spent considerable time schooling her.
Being ignorant as I am to obedience training, I don't know the extent or how to use her abilities. I just see it come out at various times.
She is a mystery, not knowing the exact circumstances of her owner giving her up. I know it must have been painful to the owner to leave this loving animal, even knowing that she was going to be well placed by her breeder.
The only thing I want to do is curb a few bad habits, I don't want her senior years to be taken by teaching her tricks, or even strict obedience. Not that training is a bad thing. I don't have the temperment for it, and Duchess does not need it.
