Ask your vet first but if they are taking anything such as an antibiotic, they need to get the gut flora rebuilt. Yogurt is a good thing to add-plain, unflavored, fully leaded(ie not low fat). Also there are several probiotics that you can use-go to the equine aisle in the feed store and look for stuff like Probios or similar items that have lactobacilious(I know I spelled that wrong) and other types of benefical bacteria. It will be in a super large syringe type dispenser or look like on of those tubes that you use to worm horses. It will help them get better faster. Again--ask your vet first if it's okay to add to the diet.

Just think of it like a person taking antibiotics or those types of meds and what it does to your system. Actually Eddie gets a probiotic every day, the rest of the crew gets yogurt at least 2xs a week. Then again, my ducks are now laying like crazy so the dogs also get fresh duck eggs every other day. Yes three ducks are laying that many eggs!
