Trimming the hair on his belly will help and instead of constantly washing him--use baby wipes! Just swipe the undercarriage when he comes in and that should work perfect. That's what I use a lot of the time at the dog shows when one of the boys gets distracted and pees on the back of a front foot or where ever. I also use a waterless shampoo and washcloth but the baby wipes work so much faster and then just throw them away.
