*~* Midnight & Sunshine know alot of tricks.
What I am working on know is to have them walk without a leash and to walk beside me....not ahead. They are doing great at this new command. Sunshine is more disiplined and patient than Midnight...so, she receives more treats for her good behavior. Midnight is heavier than Sunshine and is alot slower to move.
This is not a trick....but, something that I am extremely PROUD OF: both Midnight & Sunshine will let me trim their claws and also FILE THEM DOWN !
I started this when they were first brought home. I sit criss~cross on the floor with one of them in my lap (while the sister watches) and I simply
say, "Lemme see.....lemme see". I I gently take their front paw and touch it.
I started touching them FIRST. I did not even attemp to cut any nail for the first few weeks. It was just the COMMAND. They would both wiggle for the first week and then, they got used to it. I would do this about 4 times/a/day for about 2 weeks. Then, I showed them the clippers on the third week. EVENTUALLY, they let me cut their claws and slowly agreed to let me file them down as well. Many of may friends and family members are JEALOUS of this !! I have no idea why !
