I realize this is going to sound strange, (because it is) but, one of my friends had a piece of tire for their dog's chew toy. He must have cut it from the center of the tread and his dog bit the heck out of it. It showed no wear at all. I don't remember much (this was about 25 years ago) about it other than it was a chunk of hard rubber tire tread. As for Will I found a rubber ring coated in tennis ball material that seems rather durable...other than Will drops it down the basement stairs and it takes a while to locate it again.
