I was talking to my soon-to-be mother-in-law about our dogs over the weekend. She has a 2 year old German Short-haired Pointer.... They live in a in the country and Scout, the pointer, decided she would lead them into the pastures. So after we called them back, we started to talk about pups not finding there way home or ending up at a road...Then we started to talk about microchipping the dogs as well. We were talking about how trusting some animals are to people. This is where I get to my question for everyone and its not about how you train them, but it comes down to your dog's personalities.
Here is a scenario... someone were to drive up and see your dog in your front yard without you (remember, they is all hypothetical b/c I sure wouldn't leave them in the front yard by themselves)....The person gets out of their car and calls them over, they are calling friendly and they don't seem to be a threat....
Would your corgi greet them and hop in their vehicle or would they stay away and/or possibly try to protect the house??
I just though it would be an interesting discussion because her deaf springer has actually done it....luckly it was a friend that pulled up, but you never know.
We figured that unfortunately, George loves and trusts everyone and probably would go say hi and hope into the car. I came to this when the first time he met my brother, he hopped into his car when he was loading it up to go to school.....Beppo on the other hand, is very cautious about new people and I really don't think that he would get into someone's car without knowing them.
Just wondering your thoughts
