I have three corgis and I would have to say that at least Chip & Dale would not hop up into a stranger's car. My boys love my husband very much but Dale fights tooth and nail when my husband takes him to our truck on leash without me. He keeps pulling back and looking for me to come to. My husband was going to take him to the store without me the other day and Dale wouldn't even go, he turned around and came back to where I was standing. Chip is almost the same except he will go with my husband but it is not a willing thing. Last year we were at the flea market and a lady just scooped Chip up and he wasn't happy and Chip LOVES people but on his terms. Taffy is only 4 months old so she is too little to decide yet.
