Odie is a trully dark (burnt) red which a lot of Pem fanciers just love. I cannot see suficient signs of sable for him to be other than a red & white Pem. Is the white patch on his back within the Pem standard in the USA? If not, it won't preclude him from being used to good advantage as a stud dog just make sire that the females are not coat fault-marked. Very nice of your fellow to want to play with the big dog nextdoor. So glad it wasn't the opposite.
