Neither of them liked Purina Puppy Chow as a matter of fact they HATED it, would even try to eat it until they were starving. Iams they would eat but you know those kind of food were you will eat it but you dont really like it? well that is what they were like. Now they are on The Good Life, Trevor loves it but abby wont eat it. Today she didnt eat breakfeast or lunch she wouldnt eat dinner until i put wet puppy food in it. So i guess i was woundering what you fed you puppy and he liked?

Charlie was picky as a puppy, and I switched him 3 times on puppy foods until I found one he would eat and enjoy. Last month, I switched him to Canidae All Life Stages (the one in the tan bag). He seems to be doing well on it and likes the taste.
I researched a lot of brands, then looked to see where they fell on the dog food analysis website linked below. I like the site because it provides independent ratings (not marketing campaigns by the dog food companies). They rank foods higher with solid meat proteins and quality grains. They rank lower poor quality or too much grain content, use of meat by-products, and chemicals.
Any of the 5-Star foods look very good to me. The 6-Star are much too high in protein for puppies (and I think too much protein for less active dogs). The 4-Star start to get a bit grainy, versus meat content. The 1-Star to 3-Star I would consider junk food.
Just my opinion...the food question is complicated and something everyone has to research for themselves to decide what's best for their own dog(s).
