I am so sorry for your situation with your little boy. I remember we had discussed the chicken issue before. Sometimes, people have no other option but to rehome their pet and it is so hard but you have to put the pet before your own feelings and do what is best for your pet and you are doing just that.

Michael - With horse wire you can't just plug the holes, it doesn't work that way. The squares in the fence are large enough at the bottom so they wiggle right through and if there is any kind of acreage at all, it would be impossible to do that. Even to purchase the electric fencing or invisible fence is a major task to take to lay it around the fence and if one blade of grass gets on the wire, it shorts it out or if a minor break in the wire, again shorted out. I even bought the wireless fence and paid well over $350 for the system and it covered 1/2 acre and that didn't work for either.
