I am sure your friend had quality of life but if you had ever asked him if he wished that he could talk like a normal person or if he hadn't had cancer and could reverse the surgery, he would have commented yes. We can't compare apples and oranges here and the ends don't justify the means unless every alternative has been tried and failed and a person has no other options left other then rehoming their pet, then yes I would agree to the debarking procedure but this again is just my opinion.

However, I'm sorry you took my example as callous. I did not mean it that way. I was just pointing out that he had a good quality of life. And yes, I'm sure he would have much rather had his voice back if he could have.
I'll post in another topic the recent stress in my life.
