I think that although yes, he was asking for an opinion, the offense was taken in culmination of several other posts. It seems to me that glencorgi (Debbie) seems to be quite negative to whatever any one else is saying, myself included. I don't believe that people should be scared to post questions or opinions for fear that someone is going to berate or belittle their opinion. I find myself editing what I say on the forum because I don't want to be made to feel dumb or stupid. In my opinion, it is feelings like this that cause people to stop using these forums.
but that's just my opinion.
