Actually President Johnson was not a good model for dog ownership as the only instance that I can recall of him being in the news regarding his beagles
was when there was an article about him pulling his beagle's ears and I think he was with his beagle when he showed the press his scar from his appendix operation. Loving and affectionate he was not.
Interesting to hear that Pems are not sold in pet shops in NZ and Australia as I would not have guessed that was the case. I am biased toward the Cardi because that is the corgi I have and in my biased opinion the Cardi is at least on par with the Pem and sales should have been more equal. Good material for a debate-Cardi vs. Pem!! Thanks for the response.
