The rule of thumb is a pound per week of age. At eight weeks, a corgi puppy should weigh in the neighborhood of 8 pounds for example. A five month old puppy should weigh around 20 pounds. Now, overall size, balance, proportions, bone, substance are all going to be factors; so some will come in a bit under and others a bit over. A petite built female at five months, then 15 pounds would be about right. You can always do a rib check and puppies should be a little plumper than you would want for an adult.
