I was at the dog park today with Shippo, and while I was there, a fight broke out. There was this TINY chihuahua... smallest I've ever seen, and this pack of rat terriers entered the park... I was standing in the middle of the park watching Shippo play with a lab puppy, when one of the rat terriers just started wailing on this little chihuahua... he was gonna kill it, he meant business... there was lots of screaming, they couldn't catch the chi, it kept running, which only provoked the rat terrier more.

There was nothing I could do, except call Shippo to me and keep him there, while the fight ran its course. The owner of the rat terrier finally caught him... alpha-rolled him, whacked him on the side, and pinned him to the ground for like 2 minutes... everyone was watching. I was just like "wow..."

And then, after their dog attacked another dog, they STAYED IN THE PARK! The dog attacked somebody else's dog... coincidentally, the chi owner's other dog... a dog that was BIGGER than the rat terrier! He was just hanging onto this dog's face, tearing away... His owner grabbed him and rolled/pinned him, AGAIN (since it worked so well the first time lol). I could understand the first time, because it was a very intense fight, and it was the heat of the moment, and sometimes we do things without thinking when we're trying to keep our dogs from killing another dog... the second time though, the guy could've been expecting it a little more...

Anyway, I decided to leave after that... the dog started running around, tormenting all the other dogs, and we were outta there. Then something else happened!

When we were exiting the park, a lady walked by with a shar pei that was straining at the end of its leash... Shippo and I just walked by... until she said "hey I have a fluffy too!" I whirled around, my eyes lit up, and I was like "OMG really?!" So we talked about fluffies... I told her I'd be at the park at the same time tomorrow, so she should bring her corgi. Shippo's finally gonna get to meet another corgi for the first time since he left his litter... and a fluffy to boot!

And that was my day at the dog park...
