I go during off peak hours and only let Pip in it when it's empty. I take him for off leash exercise, not socialization, so it works for me. If it's in use, we walk the trails and kill some time until the dogs using it are done. I don't think throwing my dog into a fenced in area, off leash, with dogs of different sizes, breeds, temperaments, and hoping for the best, is a good option for me.
There is a slight chance of a confrontation with another owner, that's true.
If someone challenges me, I will back down immediately, and leave the fenced in area. From behind a tree I will call the police. Then from outside the fence I will try and convince the three disipline, registered triple black belt, and all the others on my side not to throw the other dog owner over the fence. I think I can convince them not to.......... maybe.
It would be someone I don't know entering the park after I was already in the park. I know all the regulars.
