You'll have little trouble finding a Pem breeder in your part of the USA, but you'll have to be lucky along with being canny to pick up a conformation champ. As long as the first intention is for a 'pet' the other will be a bonus.
I have had six Corgis with two of them show champs, one other a very likely champ except that he sustained a brain tumour and one I onsold a couple of months after taking her onboard. The champs were part of the days when Corgis and conformation shows were at their zenith in New Zealand.
