I agee with getting rid of the pee pads and only taking Milo outside. My dogs aren't fond of the rain, but we live on the west coast and it is wet here for our winter, they get used to it. We don't get much snow, but when we do, they have a ball! Nothing like seeing those furry red bodies leaping into the snow drifts.

I do think that it is natural for dogs to want to do their business away from where the live and eat. I made it a point to let my dogs relieve themselves on different surfaces too. Sand, dirt, gravel, rocks etc, not just grass. That way, when we travel, they are willing to go where ever there is an opportunity.

Does your pup 'go on command' yet? With your special word?
