Hi Sherry
Now that's a sad story and I hope it has a very happy ending. The fellow you are picking up may be somewhat different from your Delilah. But it sounds he is going to have plenty of fun and company - apart from being house bound. Anyway, when my house is unoccupied and we don't take the Corgi ,my Pem is almost always left inside the house summer or winter. But it's nothing to do with any danger of being stolen. My property is very private but we have a bush reserve on the other side of the Wi Tako Stream, and Taylor could wander onto it any time he fancies. The reserve is great for track walks and stuff but it carries poison bait in off-track places, to kill possums, and this is harmful to dogs if consumed in large quantities.

Yes, your best ending is to also have Delilah turn up. But let us know how it all goes with the guy you're picking up.
