Maybe the Mexican Hairless Dog would be suitable for a restaurant kitchen or as one member inferred, have the dogs kitted out in netting???? But hands up who doesn't let their own Corgis in their kitchens at home or when visiting a friend. Why Taylor is my "kitchen dog." It so happened that only last week d when I dropped a piece of meat on the kitchen floor. that Taylor waited patiently to see if I would say yea or nay. Then I dropped a piece of cheese a few days ago - and the same thing. Now here is a permanently hungry dog who is slightly underweight due to agility and one who loves his food. So I'm quite certain that if left with a dish of food on the table he would not hop up on a chair and scoff it down. There are many, many adult dogs like that out there.
What you have got to do is talk to people who have experienced the kind of freedom of owner-dog movement that has been mentioned here and I'm sure the plusses will outweigh the negatives. Why, in some countries you have to travel half a day to get to a beach that will allow dogs to run around.
