I have read that usually by the time they are a year old, they will be lifting
their leg - Cody started off and on at around 4 months. Once in awhile he would do it and then not. At 8 months now, he does it all the time. If you
want to limit the water to no drinking after 8 p.m. then you need to make sure the evening is "quiet time" for him - snuggling, petting, etc. If you are going to be rough housing and throwing a ball, etc, he is naturally going to
be thirsty; but yes, you should increase his trips outside to more than 3 times
a day; that is just not enough for a 6 month old - can't be fun for him to have
to try and hold his bladder that long and then have an accident and feel bad
about it.
