My Maxi was born with out a tail, so if the thought of pain is one of your reasons for wanting a tail, ask the breeder if their puppies were docked or born with out a tail. As far as not having a tail to wag, Maxi does not need a tail to express his feelings. His little bum is so cute, when he is happy his little bum just shakes and the little bobbed tail is just a going. He holds his little tail up when he is confident and having a good time, it is like his triumph flag that flies to show everyone here I am and I am going to conquer the world. His little bobbed tail and bum are the thing that people always comment on when they see him. With is bobbed tail, ears and eyes, there is not way that you do not know what he is trying to tell you. When we take he out the minute he gets out of the porch on to the deck his tail goes up, he stands tall with his chest out, ears straight up and stares into the woods to see if there are any trespassers in his domain (mostly squirrels) then looks up at us as if to say all clear we can go now and confidently trots down the stairs with is little tail straight up. Pembroke's having no tail is one of the things that make them so special.
