Unfortunately, Ruby is very aggressive on leash in a protective type of way. She actually gets into a frenzy when she sees other people or dogs and grabs the leash in her mouth and shakes it violently. If I catch it early enough, I sometimes can get her to sit and stay. Just sometimes. At home she is very aggressive to visitors she doesn't know and we are forced to gate her up when people come over. She barks like crazy in the house when she sees someone or something like a squirrel go by. She camps out at our bay window and protects the house. Other than that she is a real sweetie with us, always ready to play, she has never growled at either of us and really loves to lick us continually for minutes on end. We can hold her paws to clean them, take her food or her possesions without a sound. Greenies she can get a little possessive with though. At the dog park she is ok and at the vet's she is ok with people and dogs. We have tried 2 different trainers a few yrs ago to no avail so I think we just have to live with this protective behavior unless you have some ideas.
