Thanks for all the great advice. I am going to work hard on not giving Ace the goodies for awhile until he starts eating his food. Maybe feeding him somewhere else might work as well. We feed him in the kitchen after we eat. I have noticed that when he starts eating he will stop immediately if we walk out of the kitchen! He would rather follow us than eat. We went to the "health food" pet store and were told that lamb is not the most paletable food for dogs. Dogs usually prefer other protein sources. He gave us several sample packs of food to try. They sell brands that do not have corn or other fillers like Innova, California Natural, and Natural Balance. We have our cat on natural balance and it has been really good for him. Thanks again for all the good advice. We'll let you know how it goes.
