I know the $500 is a lot.

I absolutely love my Dyson, and I figured with 3 cats and a dog and all that hair, it was something that was going to be put to very good use. I had a Hoover, and whenever I vacuumed with that, I thought that I was picking up pet hair from the carpet, because the Vacuum bags did have hair with them...then I got the Dyson and I could not believe what came out of the carpet. After purchasing it, just for testing it's power, we vacuumed our carpeted areas and then right after, went over it with the "Dyson Animal" - it was truely amazing what had still been left in the carpet after the Hoover sweep.

I ran into someone not long ago while walking Cody and she has a friend who cleans homes for a living and she was telling me that "She desperately wants a Dyson" because her "cleaning friend" was telling her how wonderful they are.

Just my plug; I know they are not cheap, but worth it for me.
