Thanks everyone for the comments about Kergan - she embodied the Red Hat spirit and we have Lily Woof Fluff (the web link I posted) to thank for her outfit. I still have the hat, but she proudly wore her ruffle when she met her new "Mom" and went to her new home. Just the prior weekend, I received word that another of my former fosters, Cinnamon Apple Pie

, had also passed away. I don't believe Cinnamon had a Red Hat outfit, but she definitely had the spirit. She had a comment about almost everything from the can opener to the vacuum to the cracking of eggs for morning breakfast to anyone who dared pass in front of her house on the sidewalk without giving the password. Endearingly bossy was Cinnamon. Her family reports the house is very quiet now.
And now this weekend, I heard from yet another foster. She's my forever baby foster as she came into rescue as a 12 week old puppy. Not a candidate for Red Hat yet, she's a lavendar and pink girl, she has been diagnosed with lymphoma. Corey is only 4 1/2. This makes three weekends in a row with bad news.
So in honor of Kergan and Cinnamon, I think I shall wear purple and red tomorrow.
