How am I trying to break him.... Right off the bat, can you tell my heart isn't in it? I love my little jump and welcome home smooch!
Ok seriously, I let him jump up once, I give him a hug and say "no jumps". If he tries to jump again I say "no", gently bring my knee up and block him, turn my back, walk away, etc.
When it comes to other people, I tell him as soon as I see the look in his eye (!) "no jumps", "Sit and wait". And usually he will sit at the person's feet, butt waggling, look in his eye like at any second he could lauch like a rocket to kiss them..... And if he doesn't jump "GOOD BOY"!!!!
