I think I'll have to wait it out until Jesse stops this behavior prior to any repairs but I don't know that wood putty paste would work. The cupboard is natural light oak with a varnish over wood grain. I suppose a corner is better than none at all even if it doesn't match.

Last night I had to leave for a couple of hours and locked him in his crate indoors and from now on when I leave at night that is exactly where he'll go. During the day there's no problem leaving him in the yard but once it's dark we have coyotes roaming around looking for easy food. Willful little pup was in the crate alot that day because as soon as I got home and gave him a potty break outside he had to return to his crate to sleep the rest of the night.
