I have found what works best with Zak and any stuffed toys - - I remove ALL the filling, and he has a blast with the outer shell of the toy and doesn't chew on aything after the filling is out. He used to chew up all his toys like crazy - and like you, I couldn't keep up with the sewing because as soon as I gave a toy back to him, he'd chew something else. he was just chewing to get to the filling. Besides, I feel safedr leaving him with his toys while I am away after the "squeaker" has been taken out.
