Unhappy Is There Anyone Even Close?

This makes me so sad.

Is there anyone close to Spokane/Newport WA that has room? I just adopted from the pound and can't have more than 2 here (ok, can't afford a 3rd pet deposit).

*Should have added, OR knows of a rescue close to here?*

Here are the Regional club Contacts for rescue. I will add, that I wish they weren't offering him for "free" - I don't think that is a wise thing to do.

I can post him to the Corgi Rescue list of which I am a co-owner. The regional club rescue contacts are on there and can possibly help out. Please give the guy credit though, the owner is actually taking responsibility for finding a new home for his/her dog instead of dumping it at the local shelter. Free is not necessarily good, however, showing this responsibility level is.

I don't Michael - think about it. How many would be roaming the streets because people grabbed them up because they were free and then didn't want them when they weren't cute puppies anymore or children begging their parents to get one and then throw it outdoors because the children aren't old enough for the responsibility of caring for a pup and the parents didn't want it to begin with.

P.S. I know you were only joking but I had to comment anyway.

There was a lady in obedience class the other night inquiring about corgis and the family who was thinking about getting one had already given away several dogs after they had them for 10 months or more using one excuse after another. I tried very hard to discourage her and when she said "oh you know the name of a breeder", I didn't answer her.

I posted him to the Corgi Rescue list and one of the local people said they would check into it. Between the owner's efforts to seek him a new home and the local rescue contacts, hopefully things have worked out for him. One cannot force an owner to surrender their dog to rescue, even if they are looking for a new home their dog and as I said it is refreshing to see owners taking responsibility in this fashion rather than dumping the dog either in a shelter or worse.

I had forwarded the PWCCA regional rescue names when this was first posted to his email address - and he wrote me back, I think it was Friday, and said he had already found a nice home for his dog with an elderly gentlemen.

Sorry, I forgot to come back and post that.
