Looking for a Female Pem. Corgi Pup in Northern Cal. - 04-07-2008, 05:29 PM

My husband and I just got our first Corgi Puppy last Thursday to add to our ever growing family of pets... and lets just say, we're suckers! We got a little tri-color boy and he is absolutely adorable! Well, after having him for a few days, we decided we want another one! We contacted our breeder, but she has already sold the rest of her puppies so I'm trying to find another breeder in Northern California. Does anyone know of any? I've looked at petfinder and all those sites, but I haven't found any closer than 7 hours away. We live in Lake County (about 2 hours north of Sacramento). We're willing to travel a few hours, we're just hoping for something closer than 7!
If anyone has any info, please please please let me know! Thanks so much! I'll post pics of my puppy tonight!

~Robin

I did this too. I got Katie and fell nuts in love and got Cody a few weeks later. I personally recommend waiting. I love both of mine muchly but wish I would have given Katie a chance to enjoy being a puppy by herself and me being able to train her. Of course, you have a husband to help, I have my daughter who said she would help, but doesn't. Teens. yay yay 17, a senior, almost graduated, yay yay

I agree with Vanette, enjoy the puppyhood of your boy and wait on getting a second corgi. As it sounds as if you already have a multi-pet home and it would be more prudent to see how the one corgi fits in as it reaches teenage stages before adding another. Corgi females often march to their own drum and will/can turn things upside down when they flex their wings. Wait and see if the honeymoon period lasts.

We were tempted to do the same but ended up waiting just over a year and it was a great move for us...jst enough time...Colby turned a year in Nov and Cammie was born in November...we got him at 12 weeks the year before and her at 11 weeks this january...they have made the adjustment just fine...but we are glad we waited...just our opinion
