Corgi Nintendo Game - 11-03-2006, 01:38 PM

Everyone probably knows this, it's been in the US for a little while now, but Nintendo DS has a game called Nintendogs and there is a version with a Corgi puppy. You choose your breed, play games with them, tend to them, and the graphics are wonderful. It is sooooooo addictive, yes, even for adults, but would also make a great gift idea for any teen. Just make sure you get the version with a Corgi puppy.

MGM

Does it come in a Play Station version? Leah is 10 and would love this - she plays an online petshop game and this would be perfect for Christmas. They don't have Nintendo

No it just comes on the Nintendo DS handheld video game system. I have it and it's pretty cool. It's just like a virtual pet. You walk, bathe, play frisbee or ball. You can teach him commands and tricks. You can meet other virtual dogs. You can also link up with another DS user and have play dates with their dogs. You can bring your friends' dog gifts and everything. The commands are all voice activated so when you teach them sit, you can say sit and your puppy will sit. Lady found this most confusing. I would play it and tell little Buster "sit" and I would look over and Lady (with her head cocked to the side) would be looking at me like I was crazy. JR

The Corgi puppy comes in the Labrador Version of the game. There are about 4 different versions...my sister, she'll be 13 in january, got hers last year with her birthday money before we got our real ponzo in March. She knew we were getting him because by her birthday I had already put the downpayment on Ponz. My sister loves pugs, but now really loves corgis! She got herself a pug named Meatball and 2 corgis right away. They look so real and some do well in the obedience ring, while others succeed in agility. Usually around the holidays they will have a special on Ninetendo DS...If you buy the DS with a Ninetendogs you get both for 130.00 dollars. It really is a neat game and provides hours of fun for both adults and kids! My family has never been one for video games, but all bets were off with this one!!

Tandemgal: Sorry for not posting, I'm out of town, but the advice you were given is correct, and very informative. It is a GREAT game, and worth the investment, the system has a number of other games for your daughter so it would not be like you were buying it for just one game, like my husband did for me!

So it's two pieces - like the Gameboy... just figured that out after re-reading LOL I am sooooo the electronics go-to gal!

Just last night on TV they showed a commercial about Nintendo hand held game. Leah was showing me saying "that's what I would like!"

This game will be just the right gift for Christmas! She loves mostly 3 things - drawing fashion, her Bratz dolls, and pet games. Had to return the TV design thing I bought because Santa is bringing that. This will be perfect!!! Maybe they will have a fashion design program too!

Deb,

I wish I were your granddaughter - you are such a thoughtful and caring grandma - your Leah is very lucky

You buy the Nintendo DS system, hand-held, and the game Nintendogs, the Corgi is not on the cover, so make sure you get the game with the Welsh Corgi, and she will love it. I think there are cutsey colors for the system now, I have the plain silver. This game had been a HUGE hit in Japan, and Nintendo decided to bring it over here, and it's a Nintendo game so no other system will ever get it, like Playstation. I knew of the game, and wanted it, even though it was in Japanese, and when they made the American version my husband bought the system for me out of the blue just so I could play that game. It will always be one of those sweet memories. Also, it is a game for teens and adults, so she will definately grow with it, not put it down in six months, it's ever changing, and like someone mentioned you can play with others and make all sorts of changes, and play all sorts of games.

I just ordered the Coral Pink Lite Nintendo DS and the Lab/Corgi game!!! Should be here on the 7th. I think I should test it out between now and Christmas just to be sure there are no bugs in the system... AND to beat the pants of Leah LOL

Who am I kidding - had to give up Atri because I couldn't get the dumb Frog across the road

I can just see you Deb, trying to refine your skills before Christmas comes. Poor Leah, she won't know what she is in for.

Linda,

I've been typing for over 30 years but unfortunately my thumbs are only good for hitting the space bar - and that's just the right one!

Leah is in no immediate danger from me - but I do think her Daddy could take her down with one thumb tied behind his back! More than likely I will leave the vidio games for my professionals LOL
