Jackie is my little tomboy. She LOVES to get dirty!!! And this is definitely NOT my doing, because I am a neat freak. Oh well . . .

I've got two human boys but only Taylor takes after me - he is neat and tidy, does not destroy his toys, eats 99.99 percent of all the food he is given, cleans his plate when he is finished and is the opposite of lazy.

Rupert is at least one third warthog. If you can step in it, sit in it, roll in it and it's wet, stinky, sticky or generally disgusting he is a happy little man. He has a favourite mud hole that is by the river. There is an underground spring that feeds a bog and it is his personal spa where he can sit up to his neck in glorious black mud.

So far Jemma is game to trek through puddles and this morning she tramped through leaves that were over herhead, so I'm not sure that any of us are "dainty" - me included!! I love a good splashing puddle.

Deb:

I love that picture of Rupe and Jemma. We should have our very own calendar of our corgi's pictures.

Oh my gosh, that photo of rupe sitting in the black mud up to his neck and me in stitches. I would totally freak out! I am a neat freak and the idea of that much mud on my dog would have me on the floor in the fetal position rocking back and forth! I love the photos of both of them, they look like they are having a blast!

Oh Deb,

You are better than I am. I love that picture of Rupert in the mud. I have never considered myself a dainty person who does not like dirt and I was never one to scold my kids for getting dirty, but I can't see myself letting Cody sit in that mud. Cody doesn't mind walking through puddles and I know he wouldn't mind walking through mud, but I do make a point of avoiding it.

Jespah: Your Corgi looks way too happy in that photo. (Also, we really do need our own calendar from this site!)

Yes, Rupe is my little mud baby. It's hard to get upset or mad as he is so happy when he finds a really good mudhole! Emilie, you'd really freak as I live in an apartment and have to get him upstairs and them safely into my apartment! He's had me chase him around the front yard of our building with the hose a few times believe me! He's too big (39 pounds) to pick up and haul into the bathroom!

MGM, I made a calendar for some very good friends of ours and one for me too, of my two dogs at the time. I took the photos to a print shop and had them made. There are various computer programs and paper products that will allow you to make them. I could look into the costs of having them made and let folks know who are interested. It's cheaper the more you make.

Deb - I LOVE the photo of Rupe in the mud. It looks like good spa mud too! I bet if they put it in a porcelain tub and heated it a bit, Miss Gambler the spa-goer might shed her sparkly pink robe and go on in. You could market that mud pit!!!

PS - put me on the list for a calendar!!!!! I'm in!!!

I'm not sure Rupe would share the mud with Miss Gambler or anyone. It's his favourite thing besides food! It's so funny, as we only do that park walk in the nice weather, so for about 4 months we don't go down there. The very first time we go, I always forget, but Rupe suddenly perks up about 50 metres from the spot and then he's off and running! You can imagine the comments he gets as people pass by - I've had folks practically pee themselves laughing at him and at my predicament.

Do you think I should start a thread about doing a calendar. I don't think it should be the "GoCorgi" calendar as that is Michael's or Stephen's domain. Perhaps the Corgi Friends Calendar?

I think the calendar is a great idea, and check with Michael because maybe your calendar could be the official GOCORGI calendar. It is advertisement. And I would love a GOCORGI t-shirt, love the logo, but there could even be a MY CORGI IS ON GOCORGI shirt, maybe with our Corgi's photo on it. That's advertisement, as well.
