I suppose I could go to some 'trouble' and try and cure Taylor of his flights from kites. But in his four years, he has only seen three active kites and I do believe that there is a big element of difficulty attached to any kind of training to love kites. At present Taylor is going very well in conquoring his fear of the seesaw a la agility competitions. He is successfully walking and balancing on seesaws close and not so close to the ground which produce a gentle kind of bump and he now will jump hurdles and do the seesaw inbetween. I am now going to raise the height of the seesaw for a week of daily training on my lawn, and then tryout on close to the real thing (full height and calamity bump) - the big dogs competition seesaw.

They are actually called demolitian derbies and you are right the cars are trying to hit into each other - the target is the radiator usually to put the car out of commission. The last car moving is the winner - it is too bad you didn't know what was going on because they are great fun especially up north. My guys love them and have participated in a few. Me - I don't care much for all the smoke and the noise. I like old fashioned dirt track racing and I am hoping to go to Bulls Gap this year and watch.

We have a dirt track about 1 mile outside of our town. I enjoy going. At night you can hear the cars (especially the modifieds) from our bedroom. My son is into drag racing. He races his truck a couple of times a month.

I remember those demolition derbies as a kid in Charlotte. As most people know, racing has it's roots in the South and there was a fairgrounds about a mile and a half from the house with a race track inside the grounds not far from the road. There was an embankment by the road with a fence around it and we use to hang on to the fence and watch the races from there. I got to see old timers (now) like Curtis Turner, Fireball Roberts, Elmo Langley, Junior Johnson, Banjo Matthews, Buck Baker, Lee Petty, and others racing there in Charlotte at that old oval dirt track. This was back in 1957-60 time frame... way before the Charlotte 600 track was built. Lots of old memories there but, today you can't tell it ever existed.

Terrified of aquariums - that's just too funny. (Sorry....
)Michael - there are some very tiny kites around, (about 10cm long) you can usually get them at the local street fairs, that might be handy for helping Taylor to get over his fear. |

Taylor has seen three kites in his four years and has been terrified enough to try to escape them. At least once he has been running across a highway where he may have been killed! Wise up and help him to become less terrified before he runs into trouble. That is my two cents worth. |

Cesar can cure anything, but surely he is a skite
For $10 and five minutes, he could rid Taylor of his fear of the kite. Cesar, oh Cesar, all I ask of you is plain to see - or so it seems, Take Taylor on a flight of fancy and away from a field of dreams. |
