If you have some low calorie treats, or some of her kibble. And hide it in places and play find the treat. Or hid yourself and have her find you? Gizmo and I do this a few times. I have him wait inside of his crate and I go upstairs and I give him the release and he finds me. Here's a link on how to teach the treat find (Rainy Day Activities for Dogs)

Is she up your butt during the day? Gizmo is. Sometimes, I'll carry a toy in my pocket and throw it down the hall a few times.

What tricks does Molly know? You could spend a day doing those and new ones. Using the mind wears a dog out.

I know you said she doesn't like to play with balls (neither does Gizmo). But if you have an old muffin tin. Like a 6 count one. Put 6 balls in that, with treats under a few, and have her find those. YouTube - Mind & Scent Game for Dogs: Muffin Tin
Those are some great ideas. I will have to try them. I have tried to have her find out which hand the treat is in. But I could do it around the house as well. After reading the linked article it seems quite easy to teach her. Molly knows sit, down, and wait. We are working on come, but that is a work in progress. If she is distracted I can't get her to come. I am trying to teach her to rollover, but I am not sure of the best way to do it, so it is quite comical to watch us try.
Thanks again for the ideas,
Jessica

Our trainer has showed us, you do down. Take the treat and SLOWLY move it over the back. And when I say slowly, i mean, at the pace that she will follow the treat. I can't get Gizmo to do it for the life of him. He will stand up and turn around.

Thank you for the tip. I have tried it a few times tonight, but she just tries to sit back up. She did roll over once. We will get there, with plenty of laughs trying.

One the down side, Molly has had 2 accidents tonight. My mom and I went out and put Molly in her crate. The hubby got home and let her out and took her out. Our grass is very long (a lot of rain so it is growing fast and is too we to cut) so is hard to tell if she goes or just sits, so he didn't know. When mom and I got home, Tommy noticed a wet spot on the living room floor. She had peed sometime during the few minutes from coming in and us getting home. Then just now she did it again in the dining room. I brought her out maybe 30-45 minutes ago and I watched her closely to make sure she peed, and she did. When I heard her go in the other room I called her name. She stopped and then came shortly after. I went to check, and sure enough she went again in the house. My mom brought her yorkipoo out with her, but he hasn't gone in the house, so it is not like Molly is covering her scent over his, but maybe she is upset that he is here. Or, she could have a uti. I will insist on a urine test from the vet if she keeps this up. I may even bring a sample in before her next appointment. Argh.

Update on potty accidents and new problem

IT has been a while since I have posted on this, but things were looking up. Molly had a few more accidents that week, but that Friday, July 3rd, was the last one. Things had been going well. She had also been letting me sleep until 6, sometimes even closer to 7 and would get up, get a drink and go out without an accident.

Unfortunately, She just had another potty accident. We were in the living room. she was chewing on a frozen sock with Kong treats in it. I had just gotten in (well, maybe a half hour ago) from mowing the lawn and was on the couch watching TV. She got up and went to the door. I commented to her about going out and when I got to the door (about 10 feet away from the couch on the other side of a glider) she had already peed. Argh. It was a normal smell and color. Perhaps she didn't want to go out because I had been mowing and she was afraid if she went out the mower would get her. Or, I have not clue.

This happens to be occurring around another problem that has me worried. I think at this point it may fit better under the health issue threads though, but I will add on here. The last time these issues had occurred with the accidents she also seemed to be having issues with her jaw. Last time, whenever she would yawn her lower jaw would quiver up and down, or if her jaw was quivering she would try to yawn when that happened to make it stop. The two actions went hand in hand. I asked the vet about it, but of course when we were at the vet she didn't do it. They said if it got worse to bring her back in. It didn't get worse, and it stopped in a couple of days. Well, yesterday it started up again. She wasn't yawning, but her jaw just started to quiver, but slower then before. Then when I gave her a treat she had a hard time chewing it because of her lower jaw was quivering. This doesn't happen every time she tries to eat, but happens enough to make me concerned. A few times today it happened when she was just sitting there. At first I thought her jaw was sore, since she is probably teething some molars, because this is what the vet thought could have caused it before, but was unsure since she didn't see the problem. But, now that she had an accident, i wonder if they go hand in hand as a bigger problem.

Does anyone have any experience with a quivering jaw? I have tried to record it, but it takes too long to get the video set up to record on my phone. I am going to call the vet Monday to see if I can bring her in, unless it gets worse and I can call Tufts, the emergency vet hospital. Please help.
Thank you ahead of time.
Jessica

Could you get a video of it? and take it into the vet? I did that for Gizmo when his man parts would swell. Come to find out, it's just when he has to go pee that it swells.
