Jackie has her own towel that hangs always by the front door. As soon as we come in, I lay it on the floor, she lies down on it, I wrap her up & rub her down.

(as we did today, because of the lovely rainy day we are having in NY! I'm guessing that's what motivated your post, Sweetlychee!)
Haha, yes Fluffypants. It's still raining in NY! Fall has arrived! Well, Milo did go out to pee and we will do what you all advised - pick him up (that hefty 25 lbs of him) and put him next to the hydrant. We will continue doing this and they take him inside back home so he doesn't get drenched. After a while he should know this is the correct routine when it rains.

Corgis are slick! They play dumb to get away with things and wants it their way.

Thanks for the update! I'm leaving work now, so will get my umbrella out while I'm in the elevator!! (hard to tell if it's raining from up here on the 44th floor!)

Good luck with the training. From the looks of the forecast, you should have a few more days to practice!

And I am in complete agreement with you on the playing dumb & wanting their way!!!

One last update: Milo's "grandmother" is making him a raincoat! Yep, she's making him a raincoat. She's a very good seamstress. So that will ease his pain a bit. She saw one of the doggie catalogues who were selling sweaters and coats for the winter months. She said, "Hm...I can make that." Milo is definitely loved! Well, more like spoiled.

Thanks for the help, guys! It's STILL raining in NYC! Happy weekend.

My puppy freaks out when he sees a sprinkler going on the sidewalk (when we're taking our walk) so I don't think he'll be happy when it starts raining in the fall. Though I got him from the breeder in May, he was born in January, so he probably encountered the rain before I got him. My older one isn't too keen about the rain but she'll go anyhow because she doesn't like going in her own yard and has rarely had an accident inside. Maybe peer pressure will do the trick. He'll hopefully see that she doesn't like rain either but she'll do what has to be done. I think she likes the towel rubs afterwards so hope maybe the towel rubs will give him the reward for his action. We'll see. It's all trial and error.

just got my "in the company of dogs" mag. yesterday and they had two indoor "petapotty"s... looks like a square of astroturf with a tray underneath! soooo for only $150 to $340 our corgis can potty in the comfort of their own home without their dainty feet touching the wet grass LOL I know I'm going to be buying that!!!

You would think my Girls were made of sugar they way they try and avoid rain or wet grass! The same Girls who dont mind rolling in stinky unidentifiable remains The only way they will go into the yard when it rains is if I go outside too - I'm begining to think the neighbors have seen me in my gown more this fall than Hubby Chloe did run out in a light rain a few mornings ago - straight to the neighbor's yard to gobble up some forgotten treat their Baby Granddaughter had dropped the night b4...

T-Gal

I still go outside with Cody to go potty;(whether it is sunny or raining) so in the morning, the neighbors always get to see me in my pajamas
Well, it's rather dark out when we get up right now, but next month we turn the clocks back, so it will be light early in the morning then.

I can't wait until winter

Here Barbara, you can buy this and match your dogs.
