Does your corgi sleep with you at night? Not so much sleeping at the end of the bed, but does he/she "snuggle" with you? Lady doesn't seem to want to lay right up next to either of us, but she will sleep above us. What I mean by that is....if I sleep on the couch, (which I often do) she'll with sleep on top of the head rest like a cat would. And when the ole lady sleeps in her daughter's room, Lady will lay on the bed her daughter sleeps on (it's one of those day beds that has a matress underneath that pulls out) while my girlfriend sleeps on the bottom. I was wondering if this behavior of not being close at bed time was a characteristic of all Corgis or just Pembroke's. My neighbor also says that Vadar doesn't sleep right next to her either which made me think to ask. JR

Chip sleeps in the middle snuggled up to my back or with his head on my leg. He has done this since he was little. My husband says sometimes he crowds him but he doesn't me. LOL For a little while before he had his surgery, he slept in under the bed - but now he is back up on the bed so we figure when he doesn't feel good, he is going to be a hider. Good to know. He also will kiss my husband awake when he has to go potty in the night.

Dudley used to sleep above us as well...on the headboard of the bed, but now he is too big to do this. Instead, he will lay at the foot of the bed until 5am-ish when he will come snuggle with me until we wake up.

Cody sleeps in his crate at night and his crate is in the family room. He still enjoys being in there and often will go into it during the day to nap. Two of our cats sleep with us at night and 1 more animal on the bed is just too much.
Lady's daddy, who are you referring to as the Ole Lady?

Dillon also sleeps in his softcrate at night which is in our bedroom. Usually he hangs out in bed with us until about midnight and then he puts himself to bed ( goes to his bed) and then i will get up and zip it up to close it, however there are many nights that i just dont bother zipping it up and he will wake up and get up on the bed ( usually 6am - only a few minutes before i would normally be getting up anyway) to snuggle with me for a minute. He has to be near me, I cannot go to another room without being followed but he does not want to be hugged and snuggled constantly....

Ace sleeps in his crate 95% of the time - his crate is in our bedroom close to our bed. The other 5% is when I pout until Jim allows Ace to stay the night on our bed!
Every night before bed Ace gets on the bed with us for lovin' time. He stays up there until we go to sleep then Jim moves him to his crate. When Ace does stay with us he sleeps at our feet. Mostly leaning against Jim. Once in awhile Ace will start up at our pillows, snuggling with us, but he always makes his way down to our feet. There he sleeps all night. I love having him up with us! Peiper (our cat) doesn't like it too much because if Ace is on the bed Peiper doesn't come up!

Rupe gets boosted up onto the bed every night and sleeps next to me - often he'll scrunch up until his back is against mine. He gets too hot so he ends up near the end on his own. Jemma is now up on the bed too, she starts out across me as I'm reading before lights out, then shifts. Rupe has relented and will let her snuggle against him. I also usually have a t least 2 cats on the bed at night. Every morning Rupe leaps into my arms and I let him off. Jemma can jump off on her own, but I don't like her doign it as the bed is quite high and I worry about injury.
Hey JR - aren't you all competing with those 7 cats for space too?

Because my husband works nights I have let Checkers sleep on his side of the bed.... it doesn't much seem to matter to him if he's up by his pillows, or down by our feet. His absolute favorite though is if we happen to both be going to bed at the same time (a rare occurance)... Checkers will climb up between us and flip upside down and pass out. Even though he doesn't snuggle with me through the night, every morning as soon as I stir he will come snuggle as close as he can for his "morning luvins". He was really confused when Justin was very young and I had to jump out of bed to feed every 3 hours without giving Checkers any luvins.
Now my question.... do any of your corgi's sleep like the dead at night? If I am late going to bed and Checkers is already asleep upstairs, it's like pulling teeth to get him down to bed. He will get up, stretch, walk two steps and collapse with this expression like "it's just too much mommy, I can't make it!" Also, if I wake up during the night (mostly to take care of Justin) he will just lay there... doesn't move an inch! If he does move any, it's just to look at me like he's trying to figure out why in the world I would be moving at that time of night! -Cheryl |

Jackie sleeps in her crate in the kitchen. She needs to be in the same room as me when she is awake, but does not like to be right up against me (I also think she gets too warm . . . all that fluff!!!). If I am sitting in bed to read, or when I am sick (like last week), I put my vanity bench next to the bed so she can go up & down as she pleases. And even though she comes up on the bed with me, she still prefers a bit of space. She'll snuggle for a few minutes, then go to the end of the bed & lie down to nap.
Cheryl - Jackie is the same late at night. If we come home late, and she has already put herself to bed (in her crate) . . . it's no easy task to get her to go outside for her last potty break! This is another way in which we are similar . . . neither one of us likes to get out of bed!!!!

Sometimes Cody will retire to his crate on his own before I go up to bed or before his last outing to go potty. It is like pulling teeth at times to get him out of his crate to go outside one last time. He is all relaxed and doesn't want to budge. Once I get him out, he will do the same thing; take a couple of steps and plop down on the floor as if he is too tired to move.
Poor baby, life is rough
