Chip met a puppy today
My sister got a new puppy today and Chip went to visit her. I was so surprised to see how well he did with this little fluff ball. He would roll over on his back and put his feet in the air so she could wrestle with him. He was so gentle, I was really surprised. They played the chase game and he would run slowly so she could keep up. He let her smell of him and follow him around. It was so sweet. Normally he is ruff and tuff when he is playing with his friends. He just loved that little puppy. I thought that was quite an accomplishment for a little 9 month old corgi boy.

She is a little mix - not sure of what. She is ginger colored, fluffy and quite small. A neighbor was giving them away. I think she may be 7 or 8 weeks old. Real cute little thing.

aww - Bonnie that is great! I think they know to be gentle. It really is so cute, the rolling over and slowing down to let the puppy catch him, how adorable.
DIllon met his first little human baby yesterday. He has met young children (as young as three) but this was a 1yr old being carried in a front holding back pack thingy ( can you tell i have no kids? LOL) and the dad came over to say hi to me and dillon. Dillon greeted the man wonderful and exuberantly as is normal and then suddenly dillon realized this man had a baby strapped to his chest! dillon was a bit wierded out for a minute but was still waggling his fanny...and then the dad couched all the way down, and dillon gently went up , sniffed the baby, who squealed with delight and dillon licked her little tiny fingers ever so gentle, and she got to pet him ( with the biggest smile on her face)- Dillon was completely calm, no hyper jumping crazies...somehow he knew that this was a delicate little person---he really liked this little girl. It was so heartwarming to see him interact in that way. he actually did so much better with this little one that he does with the 6 yr old down the street that we are always trying to avoid ( this little kid has no experience with dogs and no matter how many times she is told that if she wants to pet the dog she has to go in and pet him not put her hand out and jerk it back over and over and jump back or run away and then run back as this just gets dillon all overexcited and he thinks it is a game of chase or get the hand.. she does this to the other neighbors with dogs, they all run when they see her outside, as do we. LOL! Emilie |

Congratulations Dillon. It is amazing how smart our little corgis are and how gentle they can be. Chip hasn't encountered his first real little baby yet - non in the family right now but he isn't too bad with the toddlers he sees in the stores.

My dog is able to meet "good kids" with just a nose touch. A few children that Duchess and I have met at the dog park tend to grab at the dog's coat. Duchess has never turned on them because I haven't let it go that far, but I am very cautious with her and toddlers. She is friendly to all people especially those that may carry treats.
Duchess is also good with small dogs but there too I watch her closely. If another animal gives her any trouble she snarls and growls a warning. I don't think she would start a fight but she certainly keeps larger frisky dogs in their place. The owners enjoy seeing their big pets being intimidated by her. LInda, you know what i mean, this kid is a holy terror...we see her and hide..you think i am kidding, i hear her voice screaming from her yard and i hide with dillon behind a row of bushes! when i know she has gone to her backyard, then i make the run with dillon past her house! she reminds me of the dentist's kid in the "finding nemo" movie- you know the one who shakes the bag with the fish in it - "fishy! why aren't you MOVING!"
