Taylor pic at Rest Home - 11-13-2006, 04:07 PM

Taylor,3 at Heretaunga Retirement Village.jpg In the arms and on the lap of a resident at the Heretaunga Retirement Village, Taylor,3 looks pretty happy at being able to please such a nice lady who is among his favourites because she's got the 'soft touch.' He is much admired, adored and sought after at the Village.
Taylor's been regularly visiting rest homes/hospitals since he was eight months old.

Michael: You should be so proud, Taylor is really making a difference in this world, and he looks extremely happy to be doing so, so he's getting something from it as well.

Michael:

What a great picture! Taylor looks as happy as can be.

I was imagining my two.... Tucker would be licking this poor lady to death, Lulu would be squirming, and the both would leave a new suit of Corgi fur all over her nice black skirt! My guys are shedding a lot right now.

That's a great picture Michael. Taylor really does look like he's enjoying himself!

Michael,

Taylor is beautiful. Who wouldn't want him sitting in their lap?

Taylor does get a lot from going to these places. My wife put me up to it originally. She said Taylor would like it and people will like Taylor. As I have said in the past, you don't usually see potentially full-on dogs at these sorts of places. Normally they get older dogs and docile dogs - such as Golden Retrievers. Not alert and alive and a little unpredictable Corgis. But Corgis are excellent value because of their interesting dsposition, their soft cuddly coats and the lack of any strong inhibiting doggy smell.
Taylor only stopped kissing patients and residents a year ago. He is much more reserved these days. Most residents and staff just loved Taylor when he jumped all over them and lavished them with kisses - but he never did it boisteriously - just enthusiastically. So Tucker would be fine and you wouldn't need to place Lulu on anyones lap.
I always tell everyone who wants Taylor on their laps or let Taylor stand on his back legs with his froint legs on their thighs, that Taylor will leave hairs behind - and not one person has ever minded.

I hope you a Taylor keep visiting people. What a beautiful Corgi! He looks like such a sweetie pie! You are right about many therapy dogs being Goldens, etc. So a Corgi is a real novelty! I never had anyone complain about the Corgi fur either, I think people that love animals don't care all that much...they just know it goes with the package.
