Taylor at speed - 12-12-2006, 02:07 AM

The Christmas party at the Upper Hutt Dog Training School was held earlier tonight and I had to return the handsome trophy that Taylor had won last year for the most improved dog in agility. Funny enough it wasn't awarded to anyone tonight because the "jury" couldn't decide on a clear cut winner.

But Taylor did not go home empty handed. He and my 10 year old son, Nathan won the children's race -which was racing 150 metres, the handler picking up a ball on the way back to the finish and end by sitting flat down on the ground. And Taylor and me achieved the same result in the men's race.
To cap it off Taylor won the biscuit eating competition among the small dogs - can't eat faster than a Corgi, hungry or otherwise.

So we ended up with a bag of Bosch dry food and four cartons of turkey and lamb casseroles (for dogs).

If it weren't for Tucker and Lulu, I would have no social life.

Dog training club Christmas party was a week ago yesterday, Day Care birthday/holiday party was over the weekend, and this Saturday is the Agility Christmas Party.

Sure hope we have some fun games to play like you guys! Congrats!

Hohoho!

You're right. Corgis can add to your social life in a big way. I was invited only this morning to attend the Paws 'n Park event in January with Taylor and read a segment from my book to the hundreds of people and their pooches who will attend the special family and dogs day. So I'll be reading an excerpt out of Taylor's diary - which is a lot funnier and more entertaining that stories from my book.
Paws 'n Park includes a bush walk, fun games and picnic lunch in a very large park and forest reserve in Upper Hutt's Tunnel Gully - which includes old disused tunnels and a lovely winding stream and plenty of beautiful picnic areas.

Congrats to Taylor and Nathan!! I laughed out loud about the "biscuit eating contest"!!! I believe ChloeLouise could give Taylor some serious competition!!

Taylor is most certainly a biscuit consumer. He loves his daily giant size biscuit. In the competition he was the only dog among the small size dogs with such powerful jaws - so polishing a biscuit off first was easy for JAWS even though he had had his dinner an hour earlier. Later at the party there was a biscuit scramble for the dogs and Taylor managed to grab another of them and ate it immediately on the spot.
