The night before last, Chip and Dale were in the kitchen and Chip wanted a drink so I picked up the waterbowl and replaced the water with fresh and put the bowl back on the floor. Dale was sitting about a foot away from the water bowl and Chip looked at Dale and put his front paw in the waterbowl ever so gently just enough to make the water ripple. He did this 3 or 4 times and then Dale had a drink. It gave me goosebumps. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I never would have believed it especially because Chip isn't that fond of getting his feet wet.

Chip is just diving into his role as big brother and showing little Dale the "ropes". Maybe Dale will love the water this summer and when Chip sees that, he will not be able to help but enjoy it along with Dale - they will both be teaching each other to enjoy new things.
Yes - but they are too quick for me. I am going to have to get it out and start recording. That was just too wierd. It is very entertaining to watch them and Chip takes his role of big brother very seriously. He was trying to teach Dale the chase game this morning. So funny and it is amazing how gentle he is with this puppy. Having two is absolutely awesome.

Last night Lulu had her first class for the winter session of Obedience Class. SInce it was so cold, I left Tucker home. They had been at daycare all day playing, Lulu had about an hour nap inbetween.
By the time we finished class she looked like she was about to drop. I put her jacket on her and we drove home. I couldn't get her out of the car! She looked at me as if to say "I'm tooooo tired".
So I picked her up and carried her into the house. When I put her down her eyes were slits. Tucker by passed jumping on me to run up to Lulu, stop, then start licking her face. Awwwwwwwww!
awwwwwwwww . . . he missed his baby sister! (either that - or you were giving her some particularly yummy treats at obedience class, and he was looking for crummies! )
awww those are such cute stories, Chip and Dale are getting along so well, i am so happy for you. You will have to start recording all the time to catch the special moments LOL! I am just waiting for my second to come and i am hoping that we have these kinds of loving moments..sigh
I am sure you will - they are so sweet. I am anxious for you to get your second baby too. Susan - it sounds like Tuck really missed his baby sister. They get so attached.

That story about Chip gave me chills. Zia has now decided to start playing with her water bowl. She puts a front paw on the edge of the bowl and tips it to where water goes everywhere!! I'm going to PetSmart in a few weeks and will be getting a heavier bowl for her, especially after reading about the plastic bowls.

Chip relaying to Dale that he should have a drink of water is better than my encouraging Taylor to have a drink. For the last 24 months, after a walk from my house in warm conditions I often tell Taylor to go around to the back of the property and down to the stream and have a drink. Taylor usually obliges straight away - thses days he will also cool off a little with a paddle.
