Walking round and round
Sunday March 26 is a big day for my Pem, Taylor.
He has 80 sponsors contributing $659 in walking for two hours around a short course at a park in Wellington. Taylor and I are members of the Silverstream Lions team for the Relay For Life - a non stop 24 hour relay with all the proceeds going to the NZ Cancer Society. Taylor is doing the 6am til 8am segment of the relay on the Sunday. This will give all team members staying overnight, a good breakfast break. Taylor is the only canine allowed in the event - which last year had over 2000 participants at the park in Wellington. National TV will be up early to film Taylor and I expect there will be some newspaper interest. Over the three years Taylor has been a participant, he has raised over $1000 which is a record for an individual. Then on Sunday afternoon, a hopefully quickly recovered Taylor will be leading the Wellington Welsh Corgi Walking Group on their 45 minute bush "walk." Taylor will fully deserve a large piece of Corgi Cake at the picnic that follows. I hope the weather holds up. Last edited by Michael Romanos; 03-23-2006 at 05:06 PM. |
