cup retention - 02-24-2007, 04:54 PM

Taylor was in the Upper Hutt summer carnival dog 'show' yesteray (Saturday) and he retained the cup he won last year for most points in completing an agility type circuit and for recall. From the various events he won four bags of an Australian dry food product called Coprice. I intend to add little amounts of this kibble to his main meals. Taylor did not win Best Dressed - but he should have.
The carnival was huge and pretty neat. It was held at a very large and beautiful park. Taylor got to meet miniature type horses and ponies, a donkey, pigs who love playing with a ball, different types of goats, rabbits, fowl-like birds. And he was very interested in the Scottish Highland bands - there were about a dozen performing and competing in competition.
Tyalor was also involved in his club's agility demonstrations - and he received a great response from spectactors - as most people in NZ don't think of Corgis as agility competitors.
Later that day my wife and I and kids went into Wellington to have a look at the street carniival and see the 90 minute long street parade which started at 9.30 in the evening. The parade is a bit like the Brazilian festival parades and was very enjoyable for the thousands who lined the streets and for the participants. I'm sure Taylor would have found it very interesting too.

Congratulations Taylor on a job well done. What was Taylor wearing? Would love to see pics.

Thanks guys. I'll post a coule of photos of Taylor in his dress-up outfit when I get them from the Retirement Village he visits. They took a couple of beauties.

What Taylor lacks is a hat to go with his full length cloak and bow tie. I can possibly get in touch with a person who sells special caps for dogs - for eye protection from the sun and as a glamour statement. She sells them for $20 and they fit snuggly over a Corgi's head with space for both ears to stand up and with secure straps. I don't think Taylor will object to that kind of hat.

Yes you are right, Deb. I'd treasure Taylor as an agility champion more than being a conformation champ any day.
