Talking Shippo's Learning Jumps! - 03-07-2007, 09:06 PM

I just had to show this off. Shippo is more than a year old now, so I've started teaching him to jump. I haven't got the jumps built yet (still waiting for the rest of the pieces, but I set up a bar on a makeshift stand and we're making do until we have a real jump. I managed to get some pictures of the training, and I wanted to share. >^_^<

Looks like he's a natural!! I'm sure we'll be hearing about his agility successes in the future!

Wow! Incredible photos!!!!! I seriously believe that corgis are one of the smartest dog breeds there are. My guy is so easy to train, and so eager to learn. Never attempted agility training though. Looks like Shippo really enjoys it, and probably keeps him in tip-top shape too!

awesome pics Cheetah!!! I have plans for a contact trainer if you are feeling the need to build your own. We built one last year for our puppy class. It ended up being about the same amount of buying one but we had fun.
I also have (somewhere) plans for pvc jumps, and you can get tunnels from IKEA, or Toys R Us. They are perfet corgi size!!!

Have you found a class yet? If you'd like I can email you some of my handouts from my agility classes- there is lots of stuff in there that you can do at home with little or no equipment. PM me if you are interested!

Again, awesome photos!!!
