A milestone has gone by
It went past me like a shot. I was going to heap praise and present a pictorial prize of a chocolate cake to Go Corgi member number 300 when on the same day we moved from 298 to 303 - or something like that. Now we are on May 8, 2006 310 strong after just six months since the start. Probably some of the 310 have actually moved on ie not now participating, but nonetheless we are not to be sneezed at anymore.
There were people who palmed us off as fly by nighters - a Corgi discussion group that never really surfaced and if it did would quickly sink. Well, our growth since the very first spurt has been constant. For awhile I was talking to myself - which is to be expected but it wasn't going to win me any arguments This post is actually our 2120th - averaging more than 350 per month - which constitutes a lot of talking with the fingers and proves just how alive this website is. We've come along way from endless discussions on food and feeding habits of Corgis to the latest American Idol TV series and Kiwis motorbiking 22,000 km from one end of the USA to the other but only via unsealed, loose chipped back roads. Will Go Corgi be rated at the end of 2006 by Times Magazine - just as Dogster was for 2005? It could only happen in America. My thanks to the creator of Go Corgi (Is it God? A God?) and his disciple, The Administrator. And my congratulations to member number 300 whoever you are. God bless you and God bless all Corgis especially the ones with/without tails. This is the greatest website and I want to extend my appreciation to all that have made this website possible. After all it is the knowledgable people who have made this website so great. we have some terrific people here and best of all we are all friends. I again agree Michael - God Bless you all and thank you Lord for my Corgi.

Michael, Well yeah corgi owners, but more than that, thank you for giving us a place to vent and ask questions. Having a particular breed of dog, or puppy, or whatever, can be compared to having your first child. Just because you have it doesn't mean you automatically know how to cope with it and your experiences. Always good to have others available to give you advice and cheer you on. We proud parents also love to flash our photos around whether they be human or furry children. Thank you all for being here.

Well said Shelly....
I feel the same way, I have really enjoyed getting to know everyone, and love learning new things daily about this wonderful breed. I now know in my lifetime I will never be without a corgi by my side, She's such a great friend who has given me so much unconditional love. I am thrilled with this site and am excited to watch it grow.

I too am a first time Corgi owner and have learned so much from this site. My family teases me about my obsession with this site and the knowledge that I have learned when I tell them about the things that I have learned. Congrats to everyone on GoCorgi.com for making this such a wonderful site.
I too will never be without a Corgi in my life. |

I am on here a couple times a day and appreciate all the help whether I comment or not. It is like our own little family! It is nice since it has been so long since I have had puppy and never a smaller breed puppy. I am glad other face the same things at all different stages. It is great to see things I am past, which will be a while away yet since he is still so little, tot he things I have to look forward to!
Thanks Everyone! |

Michael, I remember the lean days of 05 when this site was like a ghost town and corgi.com was the site to be at. Now all is reversed and corgi.com is like a ghost town. Interesting how things come full circle. Kudos to the administrators of this site for setting up a site with so many features that are very user friendly. Great site that deserves its success.

Hi Cardiguy
THere are a few secrets to making this site keep on keeping on. Certainly all the features and the ability to increase them, is a big chunk of it. There is more - but that's a secret. |

Chocolate cake!!! Gee can I sign off and sign back on to be member #400? I'll do almost anything for chocolate cake although it'd have to be the real thing. LOLYou're doing a great job with this board Michael. Keep up the good work. BTW, who was the creator of this board? Linda (true chocolate lover)

Linda - without a word of a lie, if you come to NZ, I'll personally bake you Americas most favourite double chocolate cake - and you can be sitting down in my lounge looking out at the marvellous bush and amazing native birds and listening to my babbling brook and Taylor will be eyeing you lovingly and excitedly at the delectible cake you're about to consume.
Truthfully again, I can only assume it was a Welsh saint who created Go Corgi because although I have the 'ear' of the site Administrator, I have never asked him for any background. Perhaps when we reach a membership of 500 - and that won't be too long into the future - I'll get presented on Go Corgi a history of the site, who it is alligned to, and how it was conceived and operates successfully and makes money for someone out there.
