Recent Show - 04-10-2008, 09:05 PM

I've been asked to post and tell you how the recent show went.

Well, Vegas was WARM and sunny and they had green grass and trees with leaves and flowers! I loved it and we had a great time.

Blaze got to run in the back yard at our friends house and play with the shelties. He had a good time running on the grass. (Ours is still either snow covered or muddy.)

Blaze won Best of Breed on Sat. and Best of Opposite Sex on Sun. (Although I still think he was BOB on Sun too. At least in my eyes!)

We also showed 5 sheties between the three of us who went. Some took their classes, some placed second. None got points, but they were young dogs. For a few it was their first shows and that they did well for us, even though they hadn't met us till Fri. night was good.

Then I came home to snow....

Thank you so much. We hope there are more BOB's in his future.

It certainly sounds like you are well on your way. Is Blaze just starting his show career?

Nope, Blaze finished his Ch. last June, and with a 5 point major from the Bred By Exhibitor class. That means I bred him, I own him and I was the one who handled him for all his points.

I moved him up the next day (from the classes to the BOB class) and he won BOB and a Group 4th. Two days later he got another BOB.

Now when I enter him in shows he is in the Best of Breed class, it's either win or lose. Well, or get Best of Opposite Sex.

He got a 3rd. BOB in NM last Oct. This one in Vegas was his 4th. He didn't do well in group, he was bound determined to keep up with the bigger dogs in the ring. Seemed to forget that we can trot at his speed not try to run to keep up. Oh well, he'll get back in the swing of things. (He's been out of the ring for 6 mos. mostly due to poor weather here making it hard to go anywhere.)

That's really super...all those wins! I remember seeing pictures of your crew, but you should post some pictures of Blaze here for everyone to see such a winning dog. I'd love to see some.

What a handsome man he is! You have every right to be proud of him. Now I'm itching to have a pem in the house again. Nope, can't do that right now, but there's always that dream for the future.

Congratulations on the win and it's always fun to take young dogs in the ring-humbling most of the time, at least with my lastest one it has been!

Wow! He is absolutely gorgeous. I couldn't help but note that his colors and markings are very similar to Charlie...but that's the only commonality. Blaze looks like a perfect respresentative of the breed; Charlie has many conformation faults. Obvious differences in show quality versus pet quality!

You and Blaze certainly deserve to rack up more BOB wins! I'll enjoy reading about them.

Thank you everyone for the compliments on Blaze. Yes, I am very proud of him, proud to own him and proud to be his breeder. And proud to show him off.

He's an easy dog to travel with and just a fun boy to be around.
